November 22 Park amenities will include delayed harvest trout fishing, 7,600 feet of walking trails, handicapped accessible fishing piers and observation deck, sheltered picnic areas and unsheltered picnic tables, restrooms, information kiosks and wildlife viewing benches, and a parking area. Hunters will also use the park to access Pisgah National Forest game land. Recently, $250,000 was obtained from the North Carolina Department of Transportation for the construction of a pedestrian bridge at the new park, and the county hopes to leverage these funds as matching funds for future grants for the park. |
